Synopsis from Goodreads

The year is 1871…

Tiki has been making a home for herself and her family of orphans in a deserted hideaway adjoining Charing Cross Station in central London. Their only means of survival is by picking pockets. One December night, Tiki steals a ring, and sets off a chain of events that could lead to all-out war with the Fey. For the ring is a reservoir that holds a truce between the English royals and the world of the Fey. But there are many who want the ring, including the mysterious Rieker, a handsome pickpocket who has been watching Tiki, and a rebel group of UnSeelie fey who would do anything to break the truce…

A delicious blend of urban fantasy and heart-stopping suspense, the story of THE FAERIE RING takes you from the gritty slums of London to the glittering ballrooms of the Royal Palace to the menacing Otherworld – in a spellbinding tale of mystery and suspense where nothing is what it seems…

REVIEW BY NAOMI – YEAR 7

The Faerie Ring is about a girl called Tiki and her family. They are extremely poor, resorting to pick-pocketing in order to survive.
When Tiki unknowingly steals Queen Victoria’s ring a truce withy the fairies is put at risk. Tiki must choose between what is right and what is easy when the fairies attack and her adopted sister, Clara, is put in danger.
The Faerie Ring is quite simply amazing, the descriptions allow you to sink into the story and experience each moment s if you were Tiki. You can feel her love for her family, her fears as her life and those of many others are put in danger. Magic lies within every page.
One of the parts that stood out for me the most was an emotional scene where the fairies launch an attack and then it all ends so quickly!!!!!!
Weaving well-known fairy-tales into the narrative, The Faerie Ring is a truly enchanting story.
Recommended for fans of fantasy and adventure.
