The 21 Day Reading Challenge

During Library lessons KS3 have been discussing the BENEFITS OF READING FOR PLEASURE.

There are some fabulous resources available on the internet to support the benefits attained from reading for pleaseure, some of which you can find here:

Studies have shown regularly reading for ten minutes a day is the minimum required with which to acheive the numerous benefits from this one simple act. Applying the principle that it takes a minimum of 21 days to form a habit, and that is exactly what we hope to acheive – THE HABIT OF READING 
KS3 have been challenged to read for ten miuntes a day for 21 days beginning the first of March. An ingenious tie-in for World Book Day. 
A few students have offered to read to their siblings or pets as part of their challenge.
